Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu first gained popularity when Royce Gracie defeated martial artists who were physically larger and stronger than him in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu focuses on positioning and leverage. The goal is to use submissions (joint locks, chokes, and superior positions to strike from) to end the confrontation from your opponent. If you can not defend yourself on the ground, you have not learned how to defend yourself. It only takes a basic understanding of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to dramatically increase your confidence and ability to defend yourself.

My son started at Angels Karate this year and absolutely LOVES it! Angel and his family are wonderful and extremely friendly. They welcome family and provide a positive environment for the children. The children have fun practicing techniques and are excited to move to new levels. We are so glad to have this opportunity for our child and would highly recommend them. Thank you to the DeJesus family and members of the center for all you do!!!! You are so appreciated!!-Kristine
